Järfälla is an excellent municipality for company establishments. The geographical location and close proximity to Stockholm City, Kista Science Park and Arlanda airport attract many companies. Veddesta, one of Järfälla’s larger industrial centres, hosts companies such as Saab in Järfälla, St. Jude Medical, Zarlink and ELFA. Other large companies in the municipality are Arla Foods, Ragn Sells, SCA Packaging and ICA’s fresh produce terminal.

Jakobsberg Centre contains a large shopping mall with more than 100 stores, a library, an art gallery, movie theater and National employment and social insurance offices. 

In addition to IKEA a number of large electronics, sporting goods, furnishing and appliance stores are located at Barkarby Commercial Centre. Here you will also find Stockholm Quality Outlet which sells brand name labels at discount prices. More companies are continually opening for business in the area and in recent years Barkarby has become one of northern Greater Stockholm’s largest shopping centres.

Barkarbyfältet is one of Järfälla’s most interesting development areas. The area connects Kista and Akalla with Järfälla’s industrial centres Veddesta and Barkarby. Järfälla owns most of the land where Barkarbystaden (Barkarby City) is currently being built for approximately 6,000 workplaces and 5,000 private homes.

The number of companies interested in Järfälla has steadily increased in recent years. There is however still plenty of well-situated land for companies that plan to become established in the municipality in the future.
