Municipal Taxes and Fees
Residents of Järfälla pay municipal income tax, which finances local services such as schools, elderly care, social services, infrastructure and public safety.
The tax rate is decided annually by the Municipal Council and is collected automatically through the Swedish national tax system.
Fees for services
In addition to income tax, the municipality charges fees for certain services. These include:
- Water and sewage – based on usage and property type
- Waste collection and recycling – household waste, food waste and recycling services
- Childcare and preschool – fees are income-based and follow the national fee system
- Elderly care services – fees depend on the level of support needed
- Building permits and other applications – fees are set according to official municipal fee regulations
Fees are regulated by the municipality’s local ordinances and may vary depending on your situation and the type of service requested.
