Water, Waste and Recycling

Järfälla is responsible for household waste collection and recycling services. Residents are required to sort their waste into categories such as residual waste, food waste, packaging, paper and hazardous waste.

Recycling stations are available throughout the municipality for glass, metal, plastic and paper packaging.

Waste collection schedule

Waste collection is carried out according to a fixed schedule based on your address. Fees for waste services are charged according to the municipality’s local fee ordinance. The municipality provides waste collection services for both single-family houses and apartment buildings.

Water and Sewage Services (VA)

Järfälla Municipality supplies drinking water and manages sewage services for households and properties. Water is delivered through the municipal water network, and waste water is collected and treated according to national environmental standards.

Fees for water and sewage are charged according to the municipality’s local fee ordinance. The cost depends on your property type and water consumption. In most cases, water and sewage charges are billed together with waste collection fees.
